Private lessons: 4 classes, 3 hours each - $300. Semi-private lessons (bring a friend): 4 classes, 3 hours each - $250 each student. (Note: Classes may be combined into 2 full days or 4 half days.) Group rates: (Minimum 4 students) 6 classes, 3 hours each - $150 each student. (Note: Classes will be half days starting at 9:00am.) If you’ve never painted before, or lack confidence, then this is the class for you. This class is for the person who thinks they can’t paint, or were always afraid to try. In a relaxed, non-pressured environment, we will explore the fundamentals of art, starting with the basics in oil painting and progressing through more advanced theories as we learn. Students will receive individual instruction to help develop their own style through use of color, composition, and values. Classes will be informative as well as fun. Class size allows each artist to receive the attention she/he needs to progress as an artist. Supply list follows: OIL PAINTS: any brand-but don’t use student grade unless you have to Cadmium Lemon Cadmium Yellow, light (or medium) Cadmium Orange Indian Yellow Cadmium Red, light (or medium) Alizarin Crimson (or Carmine) Dioxazine Purple Ultramarine Blue (or French Ultramarine Blue) Thalo Blue (or Cerelean) Permanent Green light Viridian Cadmium Yellow Green White 150ml - you will need lots of this SUPPLIES Palette - glass, wood, or plastic Assorted bristle brushes 2,4,6,8 filberts are a good start, and a small liner brush for oil painting (not other media) Brush soap for cleaning, or a bar of soap Stretched canvas or gessoed Painting panels (hard surface)- need not be expensive - in any size you feel comfortable with: 8”x10” or 9”x12” or 11”x14” or 14”x18” or 16”x20” Turpenoid or Gamsol (ordorless turpentine) Sealed container for turp. Glass jar with lid or metal wash containers that seal. Oil painting medium (Galkyd, Liquin, or similar product to help the paint flow). Will need small cup for this (1 ounce or less size) - preferably with lid Painting Knife, about 1-1/2” teardrop shaped (palette knife) Pencil Paper towels Portable easel (contact me if you don’t have one) Plastic bag for trash (grocery bag size) Bring photos to possibly use *When painting outside be sure to bring bug repellent, sunscreen, water, hat and a snack along with an umbrella in addition to the above supplies.
